I had to replace my tensioner and belt a few moths ago and this is the route that I used. Took me about an hour to get everything taken off and probably 5 minutes to put it back together. What took me so long was removing the pulley with the belt off. lesson learned. Joined

My serpentine belt broke and I spent several hours last night trying to replace it myself. I just couldn't quite get the damn thing routed properly. Reviewing information today, I have a few questions.
is it absolutely necessary to loosen the tensioner while you're putting on the new belt? I haven't been, and maybe this is why I haven't been able to get it on.
I've come across two similar but different routing diagrams for my car; any idea which I should use?
