Has anybody used the Bank of America cash rewards card at samsung.com and received 3% cash back for online shopping? Wondering if somebody can confirm before I place the order.
Thanks.

Yes as long as anything is purchased online should count for 3%. I’ve made several purchases on amazon.com with my cash back card

Each site is coded. Amazon.com may be coded differ than samsung.com

i'm also waiting for confirmation about Apple.com.

Awesome. Thanks for confirming!
So if you're familiar with the BoFA's Cash Rewards card you know you can chose the 3% category from a list of different choices. All are pretty straight forward to me besides the Online Shopping category.
Is there like a known hard list as to what is considered "Online Shopping" I'm sure purchases through websites like Walmart, Amazon, Target etc etc is considered "Online Shopping"
But what concerns me is purchases like, Subscriptions to stuff such as Netflix, World of Warcraft, Play Station Store purchases etc.
I have a card for everything atm, only use CCards for purchases. I have the Citi Double Cash card I use for all my oddball purchases my other reward cards consider a 1% purchase. Just with this "Online Shopping" category I want to avoid purchases that actually is not considered an "Online Purchase" and will fall into the 1% while I could have gotten a 2% with the Citi card
Hulu and Netflix definitely do not count as online shopping for BofA customized cash 3%. I tested it out on mine a while back, and Hulu and Netflix both have the category of "Cable and Other Pay Television Services." That category was only 1% instead of 3%.
I don't have Spotify, so I can't look at which category it has. MLB TV, Paramount+, YouTube Premium and Apple Music do trigger the BofA 3% for online shopping.
I came here searching an answer to the same questions. B of A sucks in that it doesn't tell you which transactions turned into 1%, 2%, or 3% rewards. I have an Airbnb transaction but neither the website or the app tells me how much I got for that transaction. Chase does give you this information on every transaction.
Edit: Maybe there is a way to see which transactions resulted in 3% rewards and I'm just not seeing it. Can someone confirm?
Edit 2: Ok, I just talked to customer service and she showed me how to view that information. So I just came here to confirm I was an idiot before some other redditor did lol.
I can confirm that my airbnb purchase did get counted within the "online purchases" category.

I have a car insurance payment that I can make through the app - would this count for the 3%?

You just made me realize this. I don’t think it will work but I’m for sure going to try now.
