Samsung Smart Switch seamlessly transfers contacts, photos, music, videos, calendar events, device settings and more to your new Samsung Galaxy device.
Please note:
• Download the Smart Switch app on both your old and new devices (where applicable), and check that your app has been updated to the latest version
• Ensure that the batteries on both devices are fully
charged
Transfer from Galaxy and other Android Devices Click to Expand
1 Launch Smart Switch App on both devices. Go to Settings > Cloud and Accounts > Smart Switch > USB Cable
Please note: For Galaxy devices on Android Marshmallow (6.0.1), go to Settings > Back up and Reset > Smart Switch > USB Cable
2 Connect both devices with USB Cable and USB Connector to begin
3 Select Send on your old device and Receive on your new Galaxy Smartphone
4 Select your content and start Transfer
1 Launch Smart Switch App on both devices. Go to Settings > Cloud and Accounts > Smart Switch > Wireless
Please note: For Galaxy devices on Android Marshmallow (6.0.1), go to Settings > Back up and Reset > Smart Switch > Wireless
2 Select Send on your old device and Receive on your new Galaxy Smartphone
3 Select your content and start Transfer
Transfer from Non-Android Devices Click to Expand
1 Launch Smart Switch App on your new Galaxy smartphone. Go to Settings > Cloud and Accounts > Smart Switch > USB Cable
2 Connect both devices with USB Cable and USB Connector to begin. On your old device, select Trust when prompted
3 Select Send on your old device and Receive on your new Galaxy Smartphone
Please note: For devices running on iOS, skip this step. Follow the series of prompts on your phone after completing Step 2
4 Select your content and start Transfer
1 Backup your data on your old device via cloud storage. On your old device, go to Settings > Cloud Storage > Back up Cloud Storage
2 Launch Smart Switch on your new Galaxy Smartphone. Go to Settings > Cloud and Accounts > Smart Switch > Wireless1
To begin transfer, select Galaxy Smartphone to receive and
select old device accordingly when prompted
Sign in to your Cloud Storage Account2 from your Galaxy Smartphone
Please note:
• For Galaxy devices on Android Marshmallow (6.0.1), go to Settings > Back up and Reset > Smart Switch > Wireless
• Upon signing in
your Cloud Storage Account, if prompted, do ensure to turn off two-factor authentication
3 Select your content and start Transfer
