I sat down at the bar with nothing particular in mind. There was no drink menu. There was just a bartender who would make you whatever you wanted.

If it was more than a rum and coke you would have to tell her how to make it. Ughhh I hate these types of bars and bartenders. No passion. No chance of trying something spectacular.

Next, I quickly scanned the back wall of liquors. Then tried to peek at what mixers she had other than Coke products.

The gal beside me ordered a Jack Daniel’s Honey with Sprite. This is the moment I was introduced and intrigued by Honey Jack. Then the bartender came up to me and I kept it simple and ordered the Sprite and Honey Jack.

It was good but the Jack Daniels Honey had more potential than just being mixed with Sprite.

Honestly, it is good straight and doesn’t really need a mixer.

I picked up a bottle and got to work. Honestly, Honey Jack, a splash of cranberry juice, and a cinnamon stick over ice were all I needed.

Then the introduction of tea came later when my husband poured himself a glass of tea. That would work, I thought. And it did.

In the mood for more Fall Drinks?

I do love my whiskey and bourbon during the Fall and Winter. The warming (or burn) sensation as it goes down is called a Kentucky Hug when drinking bourbon.

Does whiskey and tea go together?

While it does not seem like a good fit, tea and whiskey actually go well together. The secret to pairing whiskey and tea is to play off the smokey notes of the whiskey. Due to the fact it is smoked over pine embers, Lapsang Souchong is the perfect tea for this.
