I had to replace my tensioner and belt a few moths ago and this is the route that I used. Took me about an hour to get everything taken off and probably 5 minutes to put it back together. What took me so long was removing the pulley with the belt off. lesson learned.

very useful diagram. great link

My serpentine belt broke and I spent several hours last night trying to replace it myself. I just couldn't quite get the damn thing routed properly. Reviewing information today, I have a few questions.

  1. is it absolutely necessary to loosen the tensioner while you're putting on the new belt? I haven't been, and maybe this is why I haven't been able to get it on.

  2. I've come across two similar but different routing diagrams for my car; any idea which I should use?
