About 1921-D $1

The 1921-D Morgan dollars are the first of this series to be produced since 1904. It was also the last year this legendary series was struck before the Peace dollar type that premiered later in 1921. Denver-minted 1921 Morgan dollars are common up through the grade of MS65, though they are scarce in MS66 and very rare in MS67 or higher grades. PL are rare in any grade and DMPLs are exceedingly rare.

Obverse: Portrait of Liberty centered. On the left are found 7 stars with the words E*PLURIBUS*UNUM followed by 6 stars on the right. The date is positioned at the bottom.

Reverse: The heraldic eagle is centered holding a bunch of arrows and branch surrounded by and olive leaves. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR frame the periphery. Mint mark, if any, appears above the letters DO of DOLLAR.

About CDN Prices

All CDN prices are based on proprietary market knowledge and technology developed by CDN Publishing, LLC.

CPG® prices represent retail levels. Collectors should refer to CPG values as a starting place for their negotiations, or auction bid reference.

Greysheet/Greensheet prices are wholesale market levels for collectible coins/paper money intended to indicate what a dealer, or wholesale, buyer would pay for the described item in the specified grade. Greysheet/Greensheet represent "sight-seen" values based on a buyer's in-hand review. The actual value can be more or less than this depending on factors including eye appeal and market timing.

Bluesheet (NGC & PCGS) prices represent the highest sight-unseen offers to buy on dealer networks like CDN Exchange. In many cases, there are no active sight-unseen buy offers, so CDN looks to the recent lowest market values for such an item. For this reason, Bluesheet values typically represent the floor of the market for the specified item. CDN only tracks Bluesheet on certain items.

CAC prices are for U.S. coins that meet the standards of the Certified Acceptance Corporation. You can learn more about CAC on their web site.

Price movement is indicated for price changes in the last 30 days.

The prices listed in our database are intended to be used as an indication only. Users are strongly encouraged to seek multiple sources of pricing before making a final determination of value. Where is the mint mark on a 1921 Morgan dollar?

Mint in Denver struck only one Morgan Silver Dollar – the last year of issue coin in 1921. The coin is identified by the unique “D” mint mark of the Denver Mint, which is located on the reverse, under the center of the wreath.

Does a 1921 Morgan have a mint mark?

The Denver Mint, established in 1906, struck the coins for only one year, in 1921. The mint marks appearing on the coins are none, representing Philadelphia, "CC" for Carson City, "S" for San Francisco, "O" for New Orleans and "D" for Denver.

What is the rarest 1921 silver dollar?

Because of its very low mintage, the 1921 Peace Dollar is much rarer and in turn much more valuable than the 1921 Morgan Dollar. Even 1921 Peace Dollars that are in Good condition are valued at $70 and those in Extremely Fine condition are worth $105.

How much is an uncirculated 1921 Morgan silver dollar worth?

The 1921 Morgan silver dollar with no mint mark is worth around $40 in very fine condition. In extremely fine condition the value is around $42. In uncirculated condition the price is around $60 for coins with an MS 60 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 65 can sell for around $215.
