2005 chrysler 300c 5.7 hemi oil type

Does it take synthetic oil, or regular? And if regular, what kind? It has 62500 miles on it.

any API certified 5W20 oil meeting material standard MS-6395 will do. although not specifically required, many prefer synthetic or synthetic blend.

Thanks! I'll probably go with synthetic; any recommendations? And what's the best place to get an oil change done? (like Sears Auto, Midas, those kinds of places).

And what oil filter do you guys recommend? And can I buy the oil filter some place besides the internet? (e.g. Pep Boys)

I use either WIX or NAPA gold for filters and Pennzoil Platinum for oil. Even when I dont do it myself I will take my preferred filter and oil in with me.

Be very cautious of the larger chains and stealerships. Very often the lowest guy on the totem pole is the "LOF" guy (lube, oil, filter).

7 quarts. I got my last batch of Mobil 1 synthetic 5w20 at Walmart at a great price.

And what does "lube" mean in the term lube, oil, filter? Please, no innuendos/jokes-I have to figure out what this means and if an auto-place will do it if I bring my own oil/filter for an oil change.

You can get the NAPA gold filter at NAPA, Wix filters are available at a lot of auto parts stores just go here http://www.wixfilters.com/ and type in your zip on the left side and it will list stores that carry the filters. Lube is what I would consider greasing the chassis. I am not sure if there are any factory locations that need this but I could be wrong. Hope that helps.

Chi ching!! I even get my oil change done at walmart,I can see it being done and I even go and get the oil and filter from the shelf to be used in the car, nothing out of a drum for me all for about $80cad all in..:thumbs_u:

LOL.. I'm watching a documentary on Walmart on TV right now as I'm typing this.. they're like taking over the world... and they do OIL CHANGES now?! Wow.

I think I'll get the Napa filter at a Napa auto parts store nearby since that seems like a safe bet. I need the #1085, no? (I drive a 2005 5.7)
