The car does start hard after warmed up. The left side head sensor is obvious behind the steering pump reservoir. The right side sensor is not in the same position. Perhaps The Chilton manual Ihave does a poor job of showing the location. It also does not confirm that the right side of engine is bank A. Friday, January 18th, 2019 AT 5:48 PM (Merged) Your Cam Position Sensor is located on the right side of the engine if you're looking at it from the front. It is a little black thing right under the valve cover. Friday, January 18th, 2019 AT 5:48 PM (Merged) ANTHONY19
Engine light came on diagnosis said camshaft sensor replaced it but my engine light is still on even when I take my battery post off it comes on again what should I do? Friday, January 18th, 2019 AT 5:48 PM (Merged) You need to have the trouble code erased using a scan tool, removing battery cable does not work on newer vehicles such as this. The code is still stored even with battery disconnected. Friday, January 18th, 2019 AT 5:48 PM (Merged) STANGINSEAN
I recently got a check engine light come on and scanned it and got the code P0340 which is Camshaft Position Sensor. So me and a buddy cleaned it and tested and ruled out the wires. So I came to the conclusion that itd have to be to the Sensor then, but I have read about the Alternator causing the problem with interference. How would I go about testing if this is the case instead of playing a guessing game and replacing the alternator & the Sensor? Friday, January 18th, 2019 AT 5:48 PM (Merged) The interference gets in by the wiring connectors insulation not being on correctly as long as it is insulated correctly there should be no interference. Try adding a little more insulation, clean sensor, clear codes and drive vehicle around to test? Friday, January 18th, 2019 AT 5:48 PM (Merged) What side is camshaft bank 1?Bank 1 is the side of your engine that has the cylinder 1, while sensor B refers to the exhaust camshaft side. Some car manufacturers have their own description of the P0017 code, such as GM (more specifically, Chevrolet).
