First thing please code wrap the log. Best was to test it would be to run ringbreak diagnostics via gateway. Also in those cars tot is common
for amplifier to fail due to water leak from sunroof drain at the passenger rear. I would start with ringbreak first.

page, in the blue bar, there is a "How To" menu. In there are the instructions to post an autoscan. To wrap text in the "code" tags, you can use the symbol </> that you see in the options of the box where you make your comments. Click that symbol, paste the autoscan, and you are done. Ring break is run through J533 . Should be under Basic settings possibly or output test not sure its been a while since I last ran one using . UweBenevolent Dictator Thank you for your time..but how do I do code wrap? Member since 2014 with 415 posts, and you don't know how to use CODE tags? It's explained in this thread: Also is there any sequence in for doing the ring break diagnosis? You've already done (Optical) "Ring Break" diagnostics. Everything came back "ERROR". You've either got a bad Gateway, or single-wire (?) diagnostic bus that goes to all the
modules in in the ring for the purpose of doing Ring Break Diagnostics is . I would say bad gateway is very possible. However It's weird that he can talk to it and perform basic settings and such. I would think maybe one module is taking the whole optics bus down, but that doesn't explain why
electrically they all come up faulty.
UweBenevolent Dictator I would think maybe one module is taking the whole optics bus down, but that doesn't explain why electrically they all come up faulty. I suppose it's possible that one bad module could take the electrical bus down that the Gateway uses to run the optical diagnostic. However, I don't think it's possible for a bad module to take down the who optical
ring. So it might make sense to unplug the electrical connector(s) from each of the modules on the ring -- just one at a time, and obviously not including the Gateway. After each module is unplugged, do the Optical Diagnostic test again. If it's still all ERRORs, that module likely isn't the problem, so plug it back in. Lather, rinse, repeat with each module on the ring -- except the Gateway. If the Optical Diagnostic test gives different results with a particular module unplugged, that
one is likely the culprit. If none of the change it, then the problem is either in the Gateway, or the single wire bus that goes from it to each of these modules. I have seen
one module take the whole bus down optically and electrically in the past. Rare but I have seen it was on a D3 audi a8l that was flooded lol. Like you said start disconnectin one by one. However It is also wise to run that ringbreak test more than once to get a accurate read of whats going on.

Thanks for your input, I am indeed learning new things on this great forum. I went ahead and disconnected each module electrical socket and
run the optical tests again starting with the radio unit, still errors, then the Amplifier same situation. When I disconnected the Sirus unit and run the tests this time the reading changed significatly as seen below readings.. (With still sirus electrical socket disconnected, this time tries to boot for about 3 seconds and then shuts down again)Does this suggest faulty sirus unit blocking free communication between MOST bus members especially J533 gateway?

Ok looks like you have a faulty sirius unit. Do you have a loop installed to bypass sirius unit?? I would put in the loop and see if all is
well. It is possible that radio and amp are after the sirius unit on the most bus. The way most bus is setup in this car is one module sends data to the next. If you have one module fail it will send data up to a certain module thats good and stop there being unable to send it further due to faulty module or issue with most bus wire. However my money is on the Sirius unit. I have seen them fail and also cause a draw. UweBenevolent DictatorAgree. Based on Post #10, I'm about 98% confident this is a bad Sirius/XM digital radio module, and if the doesn't normally use it (i.e.
have an active subscription) it can simply be bypassed with a cheap loop and removed from the Gateway Installation List.

Thank you all for such great responses..I would rather try the bypass with a loop if thats the most economic way to try but havent done this before..Is there a video or link about this bypass kit or where to buy it from or the application and how the sirus can then be
removed from gateway installation list?
Look at gateway installation list and simply uncheck sirius radio or digital radio they may call it. Then for the loop just search for audi
optic loop there's cheap ones and good ones. Expect to pay about $35 for a good one.

will work on this search and post back results guys, I appreciate every one!

this on ebay, is this a typical loop that can help the bypass?
Yes that is a factory loop that audi uses.
Yes that is a factory loop that audi uses. So I just disconnect the MOST line from the sirus unit and pug it to this loop right? UweBenevolent Dictator So I just disconnect the MOST line from the sirus unit and pug it to this loop right? Yup. Then instead of passing through the (presumably defective) Sirius module, the optical signal just goes through that loop and on to the next
module.
Yup. Then instead of passing through the (presumably defective) Sirius module, the optical signal just goes through that loop and on to the next module. I just ordered the loop it comes tomorrow by prime. will post results here hopefully tomorrow..i Reckon its gonna be fun tomorrow. Why does my Audi MMI keep turning off?The Multi Media Interface (MMI) to your vehicle could have an issue with a button internal that is pushed making the system not function properly. Even though the buttons are not pushed, if a button is locked down inside the system, then the system will shut down to prevent any damage.
Why is my MMI switched off?If the engine is switched off and the battery charge level is low, the MMI system will be switched off automatically. Briefly press the ON/OFF button to activate or deactivate the MUTE function for the current audio/video source Link.
