2007 jeep commander 3.7 egr valve location

Hello everyone, doing a bit of tuning on my new (to me) 2007 Wk 3.7l. I've been experiencing a rough idle and less than ideal gas mileage and I'm closing in on 80k miles...was looking for some easy fixes and EGR and PCV valve replacements seem to be pretty popular. Just a couple of questions to clear some things up...

I called the dealership and they told me the EGR Valve part number was 53032948AC. They wanted close to $200...I'm having trouble finding it online... what I AM finding is a part number of 53034192AB as a replacement part number. My question is, before I spend $100 on the part...will the replacement AB part work the same as the AC?

And in case anyone with a 3.7l is looking to replace their PCV valve and it isnt located on the oil fill tube...it is located on the drivers side of the engine at the end of the fuel rail near the firewall. Part number 53032925AC.

2007 jeep commander 3.7 egr valve location

I had the pleasure of changing one of these out over the weekend. My Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7 V6 began having issues stalling and a very rough idle and at times would not run. I checked the codes with an OBDII scanner that I got at Advance Auto Parts for about $80, The Jeep showed a "Code P0404" meaning = Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Circuit Range and Performance. The EGR Valve is on the back of the motor on the driver's side behind the valve cover next to the firewall. The tools you will need to change it out are the following: a medium sized flat blade screw driver (to remove the air intake tubes and to get the wiring connector off the EGR valve), a T25 Torx bit or driver (to remove the air box on top of the intake), a 3/8 drive ratchet, a 3/8 drive 5 inch extension, a 3/8 drive swivel adapter, a T45 Torx bit 3/8 drive( for the two bolts at the base of the EGR valve), a 1/4 inch drive ratchet, a 10 inch extension, a 1/4 inch swivel adapter, a 1/4 inch drive 8 mm socket for the two bolts that hold the metal exhaust tube and flange to the EGR valve. Some helpful tools that you may need are a mirror on a extendable handle and a magnetic pick up tool if you should happen to drop a bolt (yes i did drop one) both can be found at your local parts store. If I had to rate the difficulty on replacing the EGR on this particular vehicle on a scale from 1-10 and (10 being the most difficult) I would give it a strong "6". On visual inspection I found mine to have chunks of carbon holding the EGR valve open and would not allow it to close. One more helpful tip would be sure that your replacement EGR has the correct wiring adapter. Mine came with a spare male wiring adapter that had to be slid off for me to be able to plug in my existing wiring connection.I hope this helps anyone who has this same issue.

I have not had to change one of these but I suggest you put a few pictures on so other members can see what you are dealing with here. That may give them more to go on in order to be able to help .
