Cant turn off audio description amazon prime

Getting nuisance by the audio description on Amazon prime? Do not worry. Here is what you are looking for. In this post, I am going to show you how to turn off audio description on Amazon prime.

To be frank, it’s very annoying hearing the voice description on prime video when starting a movie. The audio description means that each time the description of the movie appears on the screen, the background description will be played. We all know to read the description since we all know reading English. When I start watching a movie on Amazon prime, it really frustrates me, the audio background as voice description. So, I looked forward to getting it turned off. Fortunately, I got the solution from the system itself.

There is an option on the prime video itself for you to turn off it within seconds.

If you’re using Prime video app on your smartphone, tablet PC, or Smart TV wherever it may be, you can apply the same method to disable voice narration. After turning it off, you won’t get the audio or voice description then. When you’re using Samsung TV with Amazon prime, Vizio TV, LG TV, Sony TV, etc, the same method applies.

Why does Amazon Prime Video have audio descriptions and subtitles?

Obviously, Amazon prime video has subtitles and audio descriptions. Amazon’s prime video is a global service so the audience of the service is worldwide. So, for easy accessibility and understanding, Amazon prime has the features of audio description as well as subtitles. But the feature is optional to the users. They can enable or disable it according to their choice. So, in their online app and web application, they have integrated the features to enable or disable the feature.

Not all movies or videos have audio descriptions or subtitles on Amazon prime. So, you only need to turn off it on the movies or videos that belong to the video.

  • Start playing the movie or video that has an audio description on Amazon prime.
  • Swipe down the playback screen so that you can see the Subtitles and audio option icon on the screen. Tap on the screen to get the settings.
  • Then select the audio track with an audio description. You can see audio subtitles in your preferred language. On the subtitles section, turn it off by tapping on the tab. After you turned off the Subtitles, you will never then get audio subtitles
  • Now you have successfully turned off. Enjoy watching your favorite content without a voice nuisance.

Note, this is happening on Android phone with latest updates, Samsung Galaxy S9+. Never had this problem before. I skipped ahead to next episode and it's only Season 3 Ep 9 that has this problem.

Also I noticed if I switch to English (UK) it doesn't have this problem. Just the English (US).
