Carrier apu ccu main breaker tripped

  • #1

Seems my Comfort Pro unit wants to start fine but right after it starts it reverts back to the regular screen on my sleeper unit and does not let me start ac or heat or even fan. Also no power when i plug into the outlet in my sleeper. Again runs perfectly fine, starts fine. But no blower or power to my outlets. Anyone have some options?

Most likely in this order,
1. Generator drive belt is snaped
2. Circuit Breaker is tripped, red button on side of generator
3. CCU board is roasted

This problem is ussually a snapped belt though.

  5. Hi
    My confort pro
At inside display is continuously giving me a message of
Main engine interlock and don’t start
    Anyone knows what it is
    Thank you

  6. The interlock is meant to keep your APU off when the ignition is on. Some people prefer to leave this feature off when they have their units installed.

So is it properly functioning and your ignition is on. Or you possibly have a relay that is stuck. You can disable this by looking inside your APU on the top right side where the alternator side is, on the firewall you should see a yellow little wire there should be a fuse holder with a 5 amp fuse in there, pull the fuse.

  7. Thanks for your reply
I disconnected the 12 pin plug last night waited for few minutes and reconnected back and works wall night long fine .
I tried started again today and same message
Did the same reset and started again now
I recently changed myself the generator

  8. When I start my APU on ac mode it blows warm air and shows main breaker trip, I reset breaker but doesn’t help anything, what could be causing the breaker to trip?

  9. You'll need to say what kind of APU.

I have a Carrier PC-6000. One of the main wires to my compressor literally burned in two and was shorting against the top of the compressor. I fixed the wire and the problem went away.

  10. The breaker is on your CCU board. Theyre non serviceable and you'll need a new board.

Where is the main breaker on a APU?

The circuit breaker is located on the copilot's circuit breaker panel in the cockpit. The circuit breaker provides bus voltage to the APU Control Logic Module (NK102).

Why would a main breaker trip?

Lightning strikes, power surges from the utility company, or an overload to the electrical panel can all cause the main breaker to trip. If an individual circuit breaker fails and loses its ability to trip as designed, it may actually be the main breaker that trips to provide the secondary safety shutoff.
