What is Covered CA?Covered California is the health insurance market where Californians can purchase brand-name health insurance under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. What documents do I need to apply?The following documents are needed for every applicant: • Proof of income (taxes & paystubs) When can I apply?Covered CA applications are accepted only during the Open Enrollment period or with qualifying life events during the Special Enrollment period. The Covered California open enrollment period began November 1, 2020 and ends January 31, 2021. If you are uninsured, the open enrollment period is the time to sign up for health coverage for the upcoming year. During this time you can compare health plans that you are eligible make sure that they cover the health and financial needs of yourself and/or your family. When can I renew?The Covered California renewal period began October 1, 2020 and ends December 15, 2020. The renewal period is an important time to learn how your health plan may be changing in the upcoming year or to shop and compare plans to find one that might be better suited for your current health and financial needs. During the renewal period you can: • Review your current health plan to make sure that you have the best price, health benefits and access to doctors and pharmacies What Covered CA health plans does NEVHC accept?Covered CA applications are accepted only during the Open Enrollment period or with qualifying life events during the Special Enrollment period. Your Medi-Cal coverage should be renewed each year. We will try to renew your coverage automatically by verifying existing information electronically. If we can’t verify your information, we’ll send you a renewal form to complete and submit. You can submit your renewal packet through one of the following ways below. NOTE: You will not lose benefits for failing to submit

ways to submit your renewal form: After reviewing your information, we will send you a notice to confirm your renewal and notify you of any changes. You
also need to notify us within 10 days of: How do I reapply for Covered California?You can also renew by visiting your county human services agency in person or by calling the phone number on the renewal notice. If you lose Medi-Cal coverage, you may enroll in health insurance coverage through Covered California during open enrollment or special enrollment due to a loss of coverage.

Can I keep Covered California when I turn 65?Our records indicate that you or someone in your family may qualify for Medicare because you are, or will soon be, age 65 or older. If you have a Covered California plan with financial assistance, you can keep it until you qualify for Medicare.
