Show 1.0 out of 5 stars The deep water option is a sham 1. The deep water option is a sham which is why we bought it. The drum doesnt fill more than 50% deep with deep water on and water level set to max. Many clothes will stay above the water line the entire wash cycle as the water is not deep enough to pull them under. 2. Also, the only rinse option is cold water which is not always the best option. 3. And there is no way to manually advance the cycle from wash to rinse to spin dry. Once you start a cycle, you have to wait it out.Not happy and very disappointed in GE. Reviews with imagesTop reviews from the United StatesThere was a problem filtering reviews right now. We purchased GE's Washer & Dryer set in December 2021. Within 5 months the stabilizer in the washer broke, fabric softener had built up into scum, and the basket was rusting. To save anyone the hassle of months of trying to contact GE and getting the run around, DO NOT BUY THESE! They did send someone out to repair the stabilizer, which took about 2 months from first phone call to the actual replacement. Repair man said that GE's answer on the basket was not under any warranty, so we just need to spray it with a clear seal as it was a cosmetic issue. I guess eventual rust on our clothes is just a cosmetic issue...I have used fabric softener in my old washer for 20+ years and have never had the nasty scum build up that I did in 5 months with the GE washer. The dryer does not get the hair off of our clothes and when I open the dryer door, hair falls into the floor. Nobody knows why it is not getting to the trap. Since GE does not want to fix the problems with their newer units, we will never buy their brand again. 1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy This Washer or Dryer! Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 25, 2022 If I could give this product as zero I would. It has a control board issue after just two years. So now we have to purchasing new one. So if you want a product that only lasts a couple of years by GE if not I recommend staying away from it. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 9, 2020 Purchased during Covid quarantine with few choices to chose from. Installed easily, and pleasantly surprised at the capacity of the tub. What I'm not
crazy about is the lid locking feature (I suppose it's on all the current models) where one can't physically see the amount of water vs clothes during a wash cycle. But, the biggest problem: while washing a bathmat, a few towels or any small load, the machine always gets off balance in the spin cycle, begins violently knocking against the outer cabinet, and then, STARTS TRAVELING! After 25% of the washes, the washer needs to be pushed back into position after traveling 6-12 inches away from the
wall. THIS IS INSANE! It weighs 160lbs and still travels freely like my self-propelled lawn mower! Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 7, 2022 We’ve had for 2.5 years and already need to replace. It spits out black sheets of?? Mildew???? Buyer beware. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 2, 2021 I didn't purchase this off of Amazon, but what I got was reasonably priced unit with some cool features that I will definitely use. Pros: Big capacity, it can handle a lot of clothes Cons: It's pretty loud. Not ridiculously so, but noisier than I expected. Ours is in the basement so no biggie. All-in-all I found this to be a perfectly good machine and the price was on point. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 19, 2021 Overall, this machine performs as it should. The biggest difference between this and my previous washer is the spin rate. 700 vs. 1000. That 300 extra RPM is invaluable. Clothes are just far more damp and require almost double the dry time as my F and P. I was unable to find an American made washer that met the same specs. 1000 RPM should be a minimum on all washers. Images in this review Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 6, 2020 I made a big mistake with this washer. When it is washing it sounds like the tub is rubbing against something. I am going to see if I can return it. Is it better to have a top load washer with an agitator?Washing machines with an impeller tend to wash your clothes better than with an agitator. That means that, generally speaking, front load washers or top load washers without an agitator will do a better job at getting rid of tough stains and dirt off your clothes.
Does GE make good top load washers? The GE GTW720BSNWS is a great choice and excels in energy efficiency and useful wash cycles and settings. Its spin speed is adequate but not as fast as we would have liked, meaning your clothes will take longer to dry.
How long do GE top load washers last?Traditional top load washers last between 10-12 years, so the need to update was really only because the ole' washer finally gave up. And it is this reliability that keeps people loyal to top load washers. Top loaders use an agitator that sticks up through the middle of the wash basket.
Are GE washers good quality?GE is considered to be one of the most reliable brands on the market. With proper installation, level floors, and ideal water hardness conditions, you should be able to get up to 10 years of use out of a GE washer.
