You know the wonderful aroma that roasting a turkey in your oven creates throughout your home. The smell is so delicious it can make you salivate just waiting for it to get done. There are key steps that can be taken to consistently achieve a perfectly moist Honeysuckle White Turkey, or literally any turkey for that matter. We’ll show you how.

Honeysuckle White Young Turkey can be purchased at retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Amazon. But in order to enjoy a perfectly moist and delicious turkey, it doesn’t have to be the Honeysuckle White Turkey brand. There are many other brands out there that are wonderfully tasty too.

To Baste or Not To Baste? That is the Question!

Some folks think that basting a turkey helps to provide moisture to it while it cooks, thus ultimately giving it a better flavor and making it juicy when consumed. And that might be true if you’re using an old fashioned open topped roasting pan to cook your bird.

However, we choose not to baste for the best results. We feel that using a turkey cooking bag provides an excellent outcome. It creates a cooking environment that makes the turkey so moist, juicy and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Why would we want to disturb that to baste?! Seriously, cooking in a bag makes all the difference for the outcome of roasting a turkey.

Honeysuckle White Whole Turkey Frozen

The safest way to defrost a frozen turkey is over the course of time, in the refrigerator. If possible, you’re going to want to avoid putting it in the oven frozen rock solid and using drastic measures to thaw it such as leaving it out at room temperature.

The rule of thumb for thawing a frozen turkey is to place it in the refrigerator for 24 hours per 5 pounds of turkey. With that being true, you would place a 15 pound turkey in the refrigerator 3 days before you plan to bake it.

Even with following food safety guidelines and thawing the turkey in the refrigerator in advance, you might still encounter a bit of ice inside your turkey when you unwrap it. That’s okay. You can run some cool water inside the turkey if needed to dislodge the bag of giblets before preparing it to roast.

Honeysuckle White Turkey Patties, Lightly Savory Seasoned

Turkey patties can be a good alternative solution for beef patties. Some consumers prefer turkey patties as opposed to beef because they’re seen as healthier and in some cases leaner.

Ingredients

1 whole Turkey or turkey breast
1 tbsp Salt
¼ cup Flour
3 tbsp Olive Oil
Fresh or dried herbs and seasonings: rosemary, thyme, garlic, parsley
Turkey size cooking bag

Instructions

1. Thaw in the refrigerator over the course of 3-4 days.

2. Prepare the roasting bag by adding ¼ cup all-purpose flour and shaking it in the bag.

3. Remove the giblet bag from the turkey and cut off any other unwanted items such as fat etc.

4. Rub the outside of the turkey with olive oil. Apply any salt, herbs and seasonings.

5. Add the turkey to the turkey bag and fill the carcass with stuffing if desired.

6. Close the turkey bag and apply the twist tie to the bag.

7. Poke a few small holes in the top of the bag.

8. Bake at 350F degrees for 15-20 minutes per pound, without stuffing or until an internal temperature of 165F degrees is reached.  If you are stuffing your turkey, it will be necessary to increase the cooking time until the internal temperature reaches the threshold.

Alternate Recipes

Following are some additional ideas and possibilities for your tasty turkey.

Turkey Tostadas with Honeysuckle White Cutlets

If you have leftover turkey or want to simply pick up and cook some white cutlets, they’re delicious in tostadas. Using them this way, changes the turkey up from a traditional turkey meal and presents it as fresh again. To make them, place your chopped turkey on a tostada, season it as desired, and add all your favorite toppings such as cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado and serve with rice if desired.

Bacon-Wrapped Turkey With Maple and Mustard

Bacon wrapped turkey has been a hit in social media over the years. To make a bacon wrapped turkey with maple and mustard, wrap your turkey with bacon in a basket woven pattern. Then brush with maple and mustard. Cook as directed. And don’t forget to take a picture to share with your friends.

Old Bay Butter Roasted Turkey Breast

To make a butter roasted turkey breast, you’re going to need a stick of butter that is soft, 1 tbsp of old bay seasoning, salt and pepper, onion and your preferred herbs such as rosemary, thyme and sage.

How To Make Old Bay Butter Roasted Turkey Breast

Melt the butter and mix with the seasonings and herbs. Brush the mixture all over the outside of the turkey. Place in a turkey bag and cook as directed for the size of the turkey.  We usually recommend 15 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 165F degrees. Serve warm and enjoy.

It takes 20 minutes to prep and about two hours to cook. The meat is rich, delicious, and moist, and you will have potatoes and other accouterments on the side for a well-balanced meal.

Instructions.

When breast is golden, cover with a loose tent of aluminum foil to prevent over-browning..
The turkey is done when the internal temperature is 165°F in both the thickest part of the breast (without touching the bone) and in the thighs..

How do you keep a turkey breast moist when roasting?

I prefer to cook the turkey breast on a wire rack, over a cooking pan that has liquid in it. The steam that this liquid generates helps keep the turkey breast moist. I prefer to use a very flavorful liquid for this purpose, like stock with butter or oil, or even white wine sometimes.
