I had been wanting to get a new smart TV for a while now. Earlier this year, I finally decided to invest in an LG smart TV. 

I was very happy with the purchase until I found out that I cannot download the Spectrum TV app on my phone. 

Most of my favorite shows are only available on Spectrum TV and I love their on-demand feature. 

I couldn’t return my TV so, I decided to look for a workaround for this issue.

Naturally, I started searching for possible solutions on the internet. 

After scouring through blogs and forums for hours, I found some viable solutions to my problem. 

For your ease, I have curated a list of all the possible ways to use the Spectrum TV App with your LG TV. 

To use the Spectrum TV app on your LG Smart TV you can use Chromecast or mirror your iPhone using AirPlay 2. You cannot directly download the app on your Smart TV. 

I have also mentioned other methods like using the Spectrum TV app on your Xbox One or downloading it on the Amazon Fire Stick.  

Can Spectrum TV Be Downloaded On LG Smart TV?

No, the Spectrum TV app is not available on LG smart TVs. However, there are other ways to access the application on your LG TV. 

You can use casting devices, or download the application on any connected gaming device such as Xbox. 

Cast Spectrum TV Using Chromecast

Most LG TVs come with a built-in Chromecast. So, the easiest way to use the Spectrum TV on your LG TV is by casting it from your phone. 

Even if the LG TV model you have does not come with Chromecast, you can always use the Chromecast dongle. 

Nevertheless, at this point, it is important to know that Spectrum TV does not come with support for casting media.

So, you will have to mirror your Android device in order to stream media from the app.

To cast media using a Chromecast dongle, follow these steps:

• Plug the Chromecast into the HDMI port. 
• Install the Google Home app and add your Chromecast to the app. 
• Select mirror your screen. 
• Open the Spectrum app and select the media you want t stream. 

Download Spectrum TV On Xbox One

If you have connected an Xbox One gaming console to your LG Smart TV, you can download the Spectrum TV app on the console. 

The process is fairly simple, all you have to do is go to the store homepage and search for “Spectrum TV”. Download the app. 

Once downloaded, you can access the app from the apps and games section. 

This might make you think that the app is also available on PS4. Unfortunately, it is not. 

Download Spectrum TV On Amazon Fire Stick

Another way you can use Spectrum TV on your LG TV is with the help of an Amazon Fire Stick. 

If you have connected an Amazon Fire Stick to your TV, you can simply download the app on the device. 

All you have to do is go to the store and search for the app. Once downloaded, it will start appearing on the main page. 

You can sign in and start streaming your favorite shows. 

Download Spectrum TV On Apple TV

If you have an Apple TV HD or 4K box you can use it to download the app. The process is similar to downloading the app on Xbox or Amazon Fire Stick. 

Go to the app store, search for “Spectrum TV” and download the app. 

Once this is done, you can sign in and start streaming media on your LG TV. 

Cast From Your iPhone Using AirPlay 2

As compared to all the methods mentioned earlier in the article, this method is slightly complicated. 

Note that it will only work if your LG TV was launched after 2018. The LG TVs launched before that do not support AirPlay. 

To cast media from your iPhone using AirPlay 2, follow these steps:

• Download the Spectrum TV App from the App Store on your iPhone. 
• Make sure your iPhone and the LG TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi. 
• Open the TV menu using the remote and go to “Home Dashboard”. 
• Press the “Up”, this will open a pop-up menu. Select AirPlay. 
• A new pop-up with Airplay and HomeKit Settings will open. 
• Press enter to select AirPlay.
• Open the control panel on your iPhone and select screen mirroring. 
• A code will show up on your TV, enter that on your phone. 

Once you complete all these steps, you will be able to mirror your iPhone on your LG TV. 

Conclusion

Unfortunately, there is no direct workaround to installing the Spectrum TV app on your LG TV. 

However, you can use several third-party media streaming devices to download the app and stream media from it on your TV. 

Roku is one such device. You can download the Spectrum TV app on the device and view the media on your TV.
