Permits are available at Secretary of State facilities for $10 each. The Secretary of State issues Intrastate/Interstate Transport Permits to licensed vehicle dealers, remittance agents and currency exchanges for $10 each.

Can I renew my Illinois license plate sticker at a currency exchange?

In person – Visit your nearest Secretary of State facility, currency exchange or participating bank. Bring your renewal notice and payment. Acceptable payments include cash, check, credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa) or traveler's check.

The cost of the Vehicle Sticker if purchased on or before May 1, 2022 is $10 per vehicle that is registered at your home. After May 1 and through July 31, the fee will be $15. After August 1 and through April 30, the fee will be $20.
