Beginning October 21, 2020, Montgomery County will be live with E-Filing for court filings. This is MANDATORY, except in cases of opt-out or pro-se litigants. For more information on e-filing, click here*.

Beginning October 20, 2020, digitized public records from the clerk�s office are available to search online for free*. There is a $5 document fee for each printed document off of the website.

E-ZPass now available at the Clerk�s office for $25

Effective June 1, 2019, and in accordance with New York Civil Rules and Procedure Law Section 8019(f) we will be increasing our copy fees from $0.25 per page to $0.65 per page with a minimum fee of $1.30 for uncertified copies.

Effective February 7, 2019, the County Clerk�s office will offer e-Recording, saving you a trip to our office. We offer three registered electronic recording facilitators:

About the Department

The Clerk of Courts is the clerk of the criminal court and retains custody of all original cases. The office maintains a computerized index and docket in which a record is kept of all documents filed in each case.

Court costs and restitution are assessed and collected for each case. These court-related costs are distributed in accordance with the law to the appropriate municipal, county, and state offices and restitution victims.

Responsibilities & Services

The office is responsible for the collection of bail money and its return to the surety upon completion of court action.

The office maintains miscellaneous records and dockets relating to the division of election districts, the appointment of election officials, constables, and private detectives.

Public access to case information is available in the Clerk of Courts' office during normal business hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Criminal history information is also available through Court records on the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System website.

PACER (Public Access Court Electronic Records) The Public Access Court Electronic Records (PACER) System contains docket sheet information on most criminal and civil cases that are unavailable through the CM/ECF System. A national District Court case and party index is also available through PACER.
