The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2020) that launched last month brings some really impressive hardware specs and features, but some of its owners have already complained about some minor problems. Well, it is expected, since no manufacturer can make their devices trouble free, especially since the performance of these devices depends on a number of factors.

Fixing the Galaxy A8 2020 that won't turn on

Most of the time, this type of problem is due to a simple firmware failure or a system failure. In other words, it is not that complicated, even if it seems. You can still bring your phone to life using this very simple procedure, so keep reading ...

• Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key simultaneously for 10 seconds.

This procedure will simulate the disconnection of the phone battery and force it to initialize, as long as it still has enough battery to connect the hardware and run the software. This may be the only thing you need to do to bring your phone back to life. However, if that fails, try this ...

1. Press and hold the Volume Down button first and do not release it.
2. Now press and hold the Power key while holding down the Volume Down button.
3. Keep both keys pressed for 10 seconds or until the screen is turned on.

It is basically like the first procedure, but we are ensuring that the combination is done correctly. Remember that if you pressed and held the Power key first, the hard reset will not work, as this will cause the phone to turn on immediately. However, holding down the Volume Down button before starting the phone to start will have a different effect and, in this case, it is favorable.
If this procedure still fails, you should try this…

1. Connect the charger to a working AC outlet.
2. Using the original data cable, connect the phone to the charger.
3. Regardless of whether the phone shows the charging symbol or not, leave it connected to the charger for at least 10 minutes.
4. Now press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key together for 10 seconds or more to force the phone to restart.

Having a new phone that won't turn on after a few weeks is a drag. Therefore, if you are unable to bring the device to turn it on after doing this procedure, I suggest that you bring it back to the store and have it replaced, because obviously the phone is defective when it comes out of the box.

If your device is frozen and unresponsive, you may need to close apps or turn off the device and turn it on again, Press and hold the Power key and the Volume down key simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it.

If after restarting the device you still find your device freezes sometimes or is sometimes unresponsive, there are some actions you can try to help correct this symptom:

1 Use the Galaxy A8/A8+ 2018 Device maintenance menu to help optimize the device and check for “Malware”.

Anti-malware application may not be available depending on the region or service provider

3 Check for SW updates for your device.

4 Check your device in “Safe mode”.

5 Perform a Factory data reset of the device. Before performing the factory data reset, remember to make backup copies of all important data stored in the device.

If the problem is still not resolved, contact a Samsung Service Center.
