The best early car for drag is the 350Z you can win at the Texas challenge. And it's also easily the best wheelie car in the game. Show As soon as you can after you win it, upgrade the tires and drivetrain to stage 3 and the suspension to stage 1, and set the shocks and springs to full stiffness. That'll be enough all by itself to easily win at least all the way through the first set of Race Days, and of course, engine and forced induction upgrades will make it just that much better. And in case you're new to the game, the Texas challenge is at the top of the first set of races. Just use the Civic or the Cobalt for the two other races you'll have to run to get there - they should win just the way they are. And if it matters to you, be aware that the slots in your car list are fixed, so if you want the 350Z to be the second car in your list, you need to sell the Civic/Cobalt before you do the Texas challenge. Otherwise, the 350Z will be the third car in the list, and whatever you get next after you sell the Civic/Cobalt will end up being the second in the list. When you get to the point that you start having Wheelie events, upgrade the suspension to stage 3 and set it to full soft for rear shocks and springs, and (assuming you've also by then upgraded the engine and forced induction to at least stage 3) the car will naturally wheelie the full length of the track. You don't even have to use nitro or anything - just step on the gas and go, and it does all the rest. The problem though is that it's nowhere near as good as a dragster then, so you're best off building a new dragster. The best is probably the Supra you can win at the Ebisu challenge. It'll easily run under 8 seconds with stage 3 parts (stage 1 suspension), and that's easily enough to stomp anyone you'll face, and it doesn't take much to get it under 7 seconds. The GTO you can win at the Autopolis challenge is also a good late game dragster, as is the Viper you can win at the Autobahn one. Also the new Camaro and the new Shelby GT500 (though you have to buy them). Any of those five will run fast times with little to no tuning.
