I was going to post it for sale but have no idea what it's worth. Can anyone help me? DISPLAYING 1 TO 10 OF 10 POSTS FILTER OPTIONS I got a gas Strikemaster when they first came out with
metal, not plastic handles. My buddies 10 inch Jiffy with no muffler that leaked gas and would not idle got left behind. Now he has a 10 inch Ion electric that works great so my Lazer gets left behind. I told him an 8 inch would be faster but I admit it's nice looking down a 10 inch hole to sight fish. It's like a large screen digital TV instead of a B+W tube TV. Plenty of people cut 10's with electric. Not sure there is a fish big
enough in WI to require a 10 though. I purchased a 10 inch last season at a pawn shop for $ 125.00 Very good condition runs great. My question is how big of a hole can you get with battery power. If you're handy or know anyone who is, you could take the powerhead and use it for a homemade scooter like what Jiffy has for sale (for an insane price point,
btw). Saw a guy use his propane Jiffy head on a chopper style trike he had fat tires and chains for with a ski in front. Hauled tail across the ice. I've got a 3hp Jiffy hanging in my garage I can't see using on the ice again, so I need to look into options for it. Thanks everyone. Good thoughts. Yes, it's a 1971 and the single handle was replace with the retro-fit handle bar kit they offered. Good advice regarding the time of year. Some people love gas augers and would take one over a battery auger any day. I love my battery auger but last year I picked up a gas one for free that the owner said the recoil was broke. I brought it home, took it apart then put it back together and it worked fine. A week later I bought a spare one for 20 bucks so that I'd have some spare parts. One works flawlessly and is over 40 years old. The other one needs a new carb but is in otherwise good condition. The nice thing about a gas auger is they'll last forever if taken care of. A battery one will last 10, maybe 20 years at the very most. Find the right buyer and they're worth more than someone like me who'll maybe use it once every 3 years. Haha...Good point on the post hole digger. I actually have used a jiffy power head on a earth auger bit. You do need to take your time and be cautious. It is much more safer using a rental unit with a safety clutch. My point was gas augers are a thing of the past and hold no value. Look on Craigslist. Pick whatever you want. Most postings sitting idle for months. I have a '85 Jiffy 30 I might sell at some point also, not in a hurry because I really dislike the electric crap. Don't use it as a post hole digger unless your best friend is a doctor... When I seen 70's Era I was thinking one of those 1 handled bandits. The yellow coloring throwing me off. Newer??? I pedaled off my jiffys a few years back. One model 30 went for 125 and the other traded for xbow. We are in the battery powered auger era. Maybe shoot for $50-100. This time of year more like 50. Hold til next fall for a better premium. Keep it for a post hole digger or rent it out as one ? DISPLAYING 1 TO 10 OF 10 POSTS BITS & BITES
