Spider man no way home sets lego

LEGO designer Mark Stafford explained why a scene depicted in a set for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: No Way Home was not shown in the actual film.

The set in question is LEGO's Spider-Man and the Sanctum Workshop set, which went on sale in October 2021, just before No Way Home's release in theaters. The set featured Doctor Strange, Wong, Spider-Man and MJ battling giant bug monsters in the basement of the Sanctum Santorum. While speaking to MiniSuperHeroesToday, Stafford, who helped design the set, explained that this had to do with the secrecy surrounding the Spider-Man threequel.

"It was really similar to Endgame where they gave us almost nothing because this has so many secrets in it they don't even want a whisper of it to leak out," Stafford said. "Until the day I went to the movie, opening day, of course, I didn't know there was going to be more than one Spider-Man. I knew there had been set leaks that showed that it looks like there is, but the actors were still denying it and I was believing the actors, foolish. They're actors, they were acting."

Spider-Man: No Way Home Was Full of Secrets

According to Stafford, when designing the LEGO set, they "weren't allowed to do any of Spider-Man's regular roster of villains." He said, "Everyone we suggested, we were told no. So, if he needs an antagonist, something to fight against, it's Doctor Strange's basement, so make something up, something that's sort of part insect and part tentacles. And I'm a bit of a Cthulu fan so, maybe a bit of bread and butter for me, I just made a vague Lovecraftian-like monster and put it there." The setting for the basement, however, came from concept art sent to LEGO by Marvel Studios.

"I asked, is there any more information? Is there any more concept art?" Stafford continued. "And they were building the set at the time and they actually sent me 60 photos from the set, they walked around and took pictures of the set, but nothing through the door, it was all Doctor Strange's basement."

No Way Home was the MCU's third solo Spider-Man film, breaking the multiverse open with the return of villains from previous franchises. These villains included Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe and Thomas Hayden Church from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, as well as Jamie Foxx and Rhys Ifans from Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man films. All three live-action Spider-Men were featured as well, including Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD, with the Blu-ray release boasting nearly 100 minutes of bonus content, including deleted scenes featuring all three generations of Spider-Man, 20 featurettes, bloopers, visual effects breakdowns, Easter eggs, cast panel discussions and more.

LEGO Spider-Man: No Way Home sets are perilously thin on the ground, but one innovative builder has plugged the gap with a build that we desperately need as an official product.

So far, the LEGO Group has only given us three new LEGO Spider-Man sets to accompany the release of No Way Home, and just one of those is explicitly marketed as tying into the new movie – the other two, 76195 Spider-Man’s Drone Duel and 76184 Spider-Man vs. Mysterio’s Drone Attack, are said to be based on Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home respectively.

Spoilers now follow for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Read at your own risk!

If you’ve already seen Spider-Man: No Way Home, you’ll know that 76185 Spider-Man at the Sanctum Workshop is really only half-heartedly related to the events of the movie – and omits every single one of its five returning villains from across the Spider-verse, including Sam Raimi’s original trilogy and the Amazing Spider-Man films.

We’ve already discussed the need for new minifigures based on Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman and Lizard, and YouTuber hachiroku24 has now come up with the perfect way to deliver them: in a build that focuses on the movie’s climactic fight scene around the Statue of Liberty’s head.

All five of those characters are included in this spoiler-filled build, which also brings together (whisper it) all three Spider-Men: Tom Holland’s, Andrew Garfield’s and Tobey Maguire’s. An official set of the statue’s head that packs in all eight of those minifigures would be the perfect way to cap off the LEGO Group’s Spider-Man: No Way Home coverage.

That said, we’d also be keen to see an entire second wave of No Way Home sets that gives us those characters through multiple products, largely because there’s so much potential for more LEGO Spider-Man sets across the movie’s ambitious narrative.

All we know is, Spider-Man: No Way Home is doing absolutely bonkers numbers at the box office, and for that reason alone the LEGO Group can’t let its tie-in sets begin and end with 76185 Spider-Man at the Sanctum Workshop. But until we get confirmation of any follow-up sets, check out our review of that one here.

What is the Lego figure at the end of Spider

As Peter waits for answers from the many colleges he applied to, he works on a LEGO Death Star. However, rather than the one from A New Hope, this one looks like the one from Return of the Jedi. The scene is a clever callback to when he and Ned were working on the original Death Star in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
