The fastest and easiest way to reset your password is with your iPhone or other trusted Apple device—one that you're already signed in to with your Apple ID, so that we know that it's yours. You can also follow this process on a trusted iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch. To reset your password on your trusted Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences) > Sign in with your Apple ID (or Apple ID). Then click Password & Security, Change Password, and follow the onscreen instructions. If you have a new Apple deviceIf you have a new Apple device or an Apple device that you aren't signed in to with your Apple ID, you can select "Forgot Apple ID or password?" wherever the option appears. During device setup, you can find this option on the Apple ID sign-in screen. After setup, you can select an app or other option that prompts you to sign in:

And because all recent versions of Android encrypt the data on your phone by default, there is no way to recover any photos, contacts or other data that you haven’t backed up to your Google account; they will be gone forever after the reset. There are two ways to factory reset an Android phone if you’ve forgotten the password and can’t get past the lock screen. The first is to use Google’s Find My Device, which allows you to remotely erase your phone online. If you don’t have Find My Device turned on (it should be on by default), you’ll have to use the second method, Android’s “Recovery Mode”. It’s critical to note that resetting your phone through either of these methods will require you to know your Google account and password that was used to set up the phone.
