Does anyone know how long it usually should take for our £100 security deposit to be refunded to our debit card.

It's usually within two or three working days in my experience.

I hired through a broker recently called Lynx Car Hire. When I collected the car from Europcar, they only held the deposit on my card (didn't actually debit it), then released it when I took the car back - unlike what Enterprise do.

  • From their wesbite Dear Heart:

'If the rental branch accepted cash or a debit card for your deposit, it can take up to 15 business days for your refund to be processed.'

    Credit card always best!

When I hired a car from them a few months ago using a debit card, it took 3 working days; and as you returned it on a Saturday, the bank wouldn't.possibly start processing it till Monday, so it may be in your account by close of business tomorrow.
