How to fix audi side assist system fault

Hey all. Anyone else ever had a side assist fault error pop up on the dash? I just started getting one, and it won't go away!

I've had ACC faults before, and they disappear after a few mins. But this isn't!

I've looked all over and can't see any physical issues. Where are the sensors located for the side assist? Maybe they're dirty?

The Sensors look like just like your parking sensors but will be mounted to the front and rear "sides" of the vehicle. The issue could be related to an obstruction but it could also be that your calibration settings have been lost, happens. If you have access to VCDS or someone that has I would get the car scanned. If not then I would book in with your dealer.

If you are in or around North London I have VCDS etc etc.

Thanks mate. I'm gonna go check it out on Saturday at my mates shop. I'd come to you, but unfortunately, I'm in Sydney haha.

So took it to a mate who has VCDS. Scanned as "Unknown Error" in the side assist. Wicked haha. We took the mirror apart. All cables are plugged in. Resetting the error in VCDS does nothing. It keeps coming back up immediately.

So no clue what's going on. Now I'm having to escalate this through the repairer and my insurer, as Audi says it's nothing to do with them.

Faulty body mounted sensor or faulty wiring to the sensor?

Any chance you can post up the error that VCDS picked up?

I unfortunately didn't get a pic of the fault code.

I've looked all over the car and can't seem to find the sensors for the side. Are they supposed to be little round circles cut into the side skirts or something? On the front bumper you can clearly see the sensors, but I can't tell where the sides ones are supposed to be.

Side sensors are located on the side of the car, around the front and rear wheel arch area only.

OK now I'm more confused haha. Are you supposed to be able to see the sensors? Like you can on the front and rear bumpers? Cause I can't see anything!!

I also noticed that when I start the car up, for a few seconds, the lights on the passenger mirror light up for the side assist, but not on the driver's side. So it looks like the fault is on the driver's side.

Hmm. Mine are certainly not there. They're further towards the front/back of the car. Pretty much on the bumper!

I'm guessing same thing though.
