Appliance Zone has great prices and shipping. Parts are as advertised, work perfectly and 2-3 day shipping is a nice bonus. I purchased 4 fuses and heater element for less than Sears charged just for the element.

Are dryer thermal fuses all the same?

Locate the Fuse Most dryers plug into a 220-volt wall outlet, so you can unplug the unit to cut off power. Thermal fuse shapes and sizes vary. Some are made from plastic; others are metal.

Is a thermal fuse for a dryer universal?

Thermal fuse WP3392519 shuts off the burner in a gas dryer or the motor in an electric dryer when the dryer overheats. A universal part, widely used in dryers of various brands: Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Crosley, Amana, Admiral, Estate, Roper, etc. Different from Thermostat, the Fuse is not resettable.

Why does my thermal fuse keep blowing on my Maytag dryer?

Clogged or restricted exhaust vent air flow is the most frequent cause of a thermal fuse blowing. Check the lint screen for lint or a build-up of debris that could be inhibiting air flow through the dryer.

Can I bypass my dryers thermal fuse?

Unplug the dryer to disconnect electrical power. Temporarily tape the two wires that go to the thermal fuse together to essentially "bypass" or "jump" the thermal fuse. Use electrical tape to properly insulate the connection and avoid contact of bare wire contacts with the dryer cabinet.
