This video shows you how to change the oil and oil filter in your 2012 Chrysler 200. When you change your own oil, you know that you are putting quality oil in your 200 and that the filter is being changed too. Most importantly, you get a chance to look around under your 200 for potential trouble spots. This video shows you the location of your oil drain plug, oil filter, oil fill cap and dipstick in addition to the steps needed to change the oil and filter in your 200. For most Chryslers, you can wrap an old belt around the oil filter and unscrew it by hand. If you can't do this, see our parts page to find a Chrysler 200 oil filter wrench. If your 200 is too low to the ground to access your drain plug and oil filter, be sure to use jack stands and safe jacking procedures before getting under your 200.

Most Chryslers have the oil type printed on the oil cap - it will likely be 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-30 or 10W-40. If it isn't printed on the oil cap, check your owners manual for the exact type before adding new oil. We recommend wearing safety glasses whenever you are working under your 200. You never know what could be dripping down from the engine, battery acid, engine coolant, brake fluid, etc. All of these fluids are extremely harmful to your eyes and skin so it is important to protect yourself.

    Normally use this product but this one would not seal up . After tightening it 2 times had to replace it. An needed more of the liquid gold (oil) to prevent a engine locking up.

    Bought this filter for my 19 Ram Big Horn 1500. 6 days later I noticed I was losing traction driving home in the rain. Come to find out when I get home there's a big oil slick at the curb while it's raining. I look underneath and oil everywhere where the filter is. Start my truck up and drive it up ramps to see what's going on while truck is running and I see a pinhole and oil squirting out like a water pistol. Wasted money and $40 of synthetic oil that's well below the add oil line on dipstick now.

    What kind of oil does a 2012 Chrysler 200 take?

    Your 2012 Chrysler 200's oil type is 5W-20 motor oil. It requires 4.6 quarts. Specifically, Chrysler recommends Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend High Mileage 5W-20 Motor Oil.

    How do I know what oil filter I need?

    Finding out what type of oil filter you need is not nearly as complicated as finding out what kind of oil you need. There are hundreds of different filters, but you'll need only one type of car. In your owner's manual, the manufacturer will tell you what type of filter you need, so all you need to do is match it up.

    Can I use any oil filter that fits?
