The Whipple high-velocity air intake system boast the CAD driven, CFD modeled rotor molded plastic air intake that maximizes airspeed while reducing inlet restrictions. The air system features the Black Series filter with the velocity stack on the end. Each filter features extra wide pleats, giving the air filter the capacity to flow over 132% more air than a stock paper filter. The powder coated heat shield helps prevent power robbing heat from entering the intake track. The results, more horsepower and torque, increased throttle response and unique induction noise. Does cold air intake help EcoBoost?I hate to be That guy, but turbo engines have an intercooler that cools the air after it goes through the turbo. So in short the air will be heated when it touches the turbo, before cooling it right before it goes into the cylinders. So cool air intakes are redundant and unnecessary for Ecoboost engines.
How much HP can a 2.7 EcoBoost handle?A handful of bolt-on mods can take the 2.7 EcoBoost to 400whp+, with potential for 500whp+ with some more sophisticated mods. Breaking past the 425-450whp mark is going to require upgraded turbos.
